The Asia Society Texas Center presents “ISIS Implications in Asia: A Discussion with Jessica Lewis McFate.” With the Sunni Arab coalition that rapidly convened and took action in Yemen; the thwarted “Lone Wolf” attack in Garland (Dallas-Ft Worth Area), Texas; the fall of Ramadi; and the ongoing campaigns in Iraq and Syria, ISIS issues will only get more complex as events unfold and military action continues. Additionally, the negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program and threatened sanctions will impact the Southwest Asia region and the world.
Jessica Lewis McFate joins Asia Society Texas Center to discuss the current impact of ISIS on Asia and the ongoing, grave events in Syria, Iraq, Southwest Asia, and the greater Levant Regions. With ISIS creating its own currency and winning hearts and minds throughout the world — aiming to re-establish the Islamic Caliphate — Jessica’s description of the “Three Rings” of influence will provide a chilling insight to the threat this organized, motivated, and dedicated force has brought to the global forefront.
