Overview

The Group Leader (GL) manages and directs the project team to assure all technical, schedule, and delivery requirements are met. The GL works closely with the Program Manager to provide detailed project data for formal cost, schedule and performance tracking and reporting. The GL may interface with the customer project lead and end users to ensure products and services are delivered in accordance with contract requirements.  

The successful candidate will have practical knowledge and skills in the application of a wide range of analytical and management techniques, especially USAF aircraft maintenance processes, procedures and support. Technical and operational experience with USAF fixed-wing tanker aircraft (KC-10, KC-135, etc) highly desired.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

 Manages multi-disciplinary maintenance teams to develop complex maintenance tasks.

 Manages multiple projects and teams simultaneously within common processes and procedures.

 Budgets for and controls project resources.

 Is responsible for the performance of employees working contract tasks.

 Ensures that appropriate resources are provided and available for project execution IAW contract requirements.

 Successfully interacts with senior military and Government personnel.

 Handles complex program planning, cost estimating, budgeting, financial tracking, resourcing, and monitoring of short term and long-term multiple- disciplinary teams and project objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

 A BA/BS degree in business management, engineering or equivalent is required.  

 Former USAF program experience.

 Minimum of 12 years of specialized experience and management responsibility of teams in technical disciplines related to the requirements.

 Minimum of 10-15 years of specialized experience in USAF aviation maintenance training experience is desired.

 Experience in the development of military training programs and systems.

 Experience managing formal USAF Aviation Maintenance Training Curriculum and Courseware Design and Development.

 Experience in military maintenance, operations, service, and/or military standards.

 Technical understanding of the basic principles of systems engineering for software-based systems.

 Adept in Microsoft Office Suite, including working knowledge of MS Project.

 Demonstrated experience in problem solving for complex, multi skill required issues.

 Superior interpersonal abilities and communication skills.

 Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, and flexible.

Preferred Qualifications

 MS or equivalent in technical management.

 Technical and operational experience with USAF fixed-wing tanker aircraft (KC-10, KC-135, etc) highly desired.

 Experience managing formal USAF Fixed-Wing Bomber/Tanker Maintenance Training Curriculum and Courseware Design and Development.
